Cosmic Recycling
Fun with Shadows
I don’t know if it’s a last minute spring clean before crossing the threshold of the Judgement with the Grim Reaper... but I find myself, these days, doing a lot of shadow work and processing stuff so deep now that I’m pretty sure it’s not my own, but ancestral.
I usually do this work at dawn, when the resonance is strong from the ‘gods’ or spirits, and particularly the planetary logi whose name day it is.
Each one of them, whether the Sun, the Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus or Saturn, has their own healing specialities. For instance, the housework I did this Wednesday morning with Mercury was all about removing blocks to smoother quicksilver communications. Working with Mars on Tuesdays has helped me build and strengthen my inner emotional armour and sharpen my mental sword. And we’ve also done blood work through his association with iron and haemoglobin.
The first thing I had to learn about this form of house cleaning was that once a shadow is identified, there’s no point in wasting time trying to reason with it any more than you would reason with an old cardboard box. Sometimes they are people asking for my help; other times there’s a bossy, cantankerous woman arguing with everyone. I don’t engage with them though. I just send them packing.
Psychologists would disagree, I’m sure; they seem to find great value in making their clients remember and relive every second of how and why the shadow got stuck. But with shamanism, there’s none of that. You don’t need to know why it’s there. You don’t have to try to help it or reason with it. You can just send it straight to the recycling bins, and that’s that...no messing!
A lot of the time, a shadow is not the result of anything we’ve done anyway, but was created by an ancestor who didn’t know how to process it, and so it got stuck in the DNA of the whole family line.
I do literally send my shadows to the recycling bins; I have four big dumpsters on the astral plains that get emptied daily. There’s none of that ‘once every three weeks’ nonsense with the cosmic bin men!
I’m not saying it’s the only way, and you might find a better one.
I was taught to say: “Please take this shadow to where it can do good and bring no harm to anyone,” which is based on the notion that all “evil” is just energy in the wrong place. That works well too.
But nowadays I just point and say, “to the bins!”.

Yes yes and yes Annie in fact somethings I never thought I would move on yet the pleasure I get from putting in a bag / box and then taking them to a charity shop. I also thought it's a funny time to do a spring clean / clear yet it is energetically a clearing of the leaves and debris ready for the surprise winter blooms. Love Deb
